Young@Heart Day Program - Is this the program for you?

If you are a mature aged person experiencing adjustment difficulties, memory problems, anxiety or depression, or would simply like to improve your daily functioning, this program is designed for you. The Young@Heart Day Program is designed to meet the needs of our mature aged clients and includes a memory component.

Sessions include reminiscing, validation, generating meaning, dignity, positive appraisal and the reframing of daily experience. This allows clients to review their life, both past and present in a positive and supportive environment. The therapist invites clients to discuss issues that are most important to them, and to participate in activities that provide a sense of enjoyment and mastery. Activities include: art, music, physical movement, memory games and social interaction.

    When is it held?

The Young@Heart Day Program is held one day per week for eight weeks, from 9.30am to 3.00pm. Morning tea, a light lunch and afternoon tea is provided. We will check your eligibility with your health fund or DVA before proceeding.
